I love DBFS & the way they do bluegrass. I wear an MP3 player at work & some days I listen to "Little Church by the Side of the Road" for a week solid. That's not the only one, there are more of DBFS on there that I listen to almost as much. I love your sound, I love the vocals...it's my kind of thing. I'm fixing to retire here soon (after almost 44 years), and am glad to have found your music. Keep up the good work!

Admin reply: You made my day. rt

I was very struck/moved by Ron's latest rant and would like to send him a couple of things I have written about racism. May I please have his email address?

Thanks,

Bob

Admin reply: It's right on the email that had the rant.

Have really missed annual live dose of DBFS at Strawberry Park's BG Fest in Preston, CT. Taking care of Mom 7 days a week, 6am to midnight, has taken presidence over attenance. Thank the powers that be, I've purchased several CDs at festivals past. They get me by.I just read Ron's newest rant and it just furthers my faith in Ron, DBFS, Bluegrass and humanity. Thank you Ron for always being the voice of reason and logic, unwaivering in your values and unafraid to share them with us. Racism and bigotry have caused enough pain in this world. Music is meant for harmony, within ourselves and with each other. Brian and Dan will be greatly missed. I would like to hear the new configuration this coming spring in CT but won't wish for it as it would mean I've lost the reason preventing my attendance.Thank you Ron for your rants so rational and as always THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for the music.
Sincerely, Sue Telles

Thank you for the courage of this declaration. We've always admired your music and, reading this, we came to admire even more your core and well-lived humanity. This society needs more leaders like you. And music can make a difference. See you in Westcliffe and also (we hope) in Virginia.

thanks for your very timely rant. This was a good example from your experience, but surely every one of us has our own every day even if we're not tuned in at the time to see it. I'm glad you signed up with them again, I can hardly think of an organization that doesn't need help from everyone! Can't wait to hear the new voices!!

I respect your "rant" wish there were more conservatives like you. Maybe then I could be one

Admin reply: The one thing that has stood out to me lately is that there is no party for us conservatives to be a part of; I have noticed that most that I know are all now Democrats or Independents. As I said in the rant: Hate is not a conservative value.

It was during a working visit to the US during 1999 that I attended a Bluegrass festival at the National Horse Park camping ground near Lexington Kentucky. It was there I was exposed to traditional bluegrass music which was as far from my experience as you could get as a piano player in rock and pop music in Australia. It was there I got to know Mary Jo and Charlie Leet who were then members of the Dry Branch Fire Squad. I corresponded with them for a long time but not so much lately which I should rectify. I wish you every success and enjoyment playing the music you love. "LIVE AT LAST " is still one of the most played at our home.
